Depression is one of the biggest social problem as issues in our society, nowadays. This paper includes basic knowledge of depression, formative research methods and results, and generated ideas. The formative research aims to figure out what people in depression can do to reduce their depression through expert interview, exploratory diary study and focus group interview. Based on the conclusion that derived from literature review and formative studies, ideas are generated with persona and task analysis.

Before the ideation, formative study was conducted with the subject focusing on depression: why and when people become depressed, how and what people take effort to reduce the feeling of depression. To figure out and answer to the research questions, expert interview, focus group interview and survey was taken. Therefore, several design requirements are derived as conclusion and from the conclusion following ideas are generated. In this paper, design alternatives are evaluated in certain criteria, and then one idea is selected in conclusion part.

Today, enormous number of people in the city feel and think that they are unhappy, lonely and hopeless. People in the city always try to find something to make them happy, however, they even do not have time to spend feeling joy. How can we feel happiness with a little time and cost? By passing through the hallway, or on the way to the office or in a little time before the class. Therefore, CHOCHOLATE VENDING MACHINE is going to provide those people chocolate with a special message from the people in the community. CHOCOLATE VENDING MACHNE want to give a little but huge happiness with following slogan.

Our team tried to explore the interaction between user and interfaces of mobile phone and chocolate vending machine. To explore in heuristic way, we tried to test with feeling-real prototype.
